Forsaken Lands Roleplay Rules
General Rules;
- Do not spam chat.Spamming is defined as posting irrelevant or off-topic comments into global or local or admin chat. Example: Admin, admin, admin, help, help, help. Aaddpfdsfksdlflkdlkf. Players who are spamming the chat will be warned and muted, followed by a kick, followed by a temp ban if they do not stop spamming chat.
- Do not break chat.This means stopping local or global chat by spam or other methods, this shall be met with a permanent ban.
- Do not act purposefully racist OOC.While the server generally allows free speech, certain racist words and other terms generally only used to invoke racism shall be met with a temp-ban.
- Do not attempt to start OOC flame wars IG.See the Rules of Conduct, 8
Rules of Conduct;
- Trolling is not allowed. Trolling is defined as deliberately breaking character or the suspension of disbelief. Example: Dabbing, impossible faces, highly unprofessional characters (playing somebody who is retarded or somebody who is a parody of somebody else’s character.) People suspected of trolling will be contacted by a admin and asked to cease their behavior or to log off and return with the intention to roleplay, failure to do so will receive a temp ban on first offense, a week ban on the second offense, and a month long ban on the third offense. Further trolling will result in a ban till appeal.
- Do not RDM. RDM or Random DeathMatch is defined as initiating combat without proper RP or combat warning. Example: Punching somebody to get a IC response more than three times, hitting with a weapon, or horse-bumping intentionally and/or repeatedly. Players suspected of RDMing will be contacted by a admin after being reported and informed that they will be banned for a day for the first offense, 2 weeks for the second offense, and ban until appeal on the third offense.
- Do not OOC fight.OOC Fighting or fighting out of character is defined as engaging in fighting without roleplay, without purpose or wound RP that both parties agree to. Combat training shall be taken as OOC fighting if the party does not roleplay in between fights or wrap weapons. Example: Fighting repeatibly, “training” “pads weapon”, and “You want to fight?” then fighting till one party is bored. Players suspected of OOC fighting will be informed to cease and if not observed shall have light wounds enforced. Further OOC fighting will result in a temp ban, then a week ban, followed by a ban until appeal.
- Do not metagame. Metagaming is defined as using information your character is not aware of or has no accesses to in character OR providing said information for the intention for it to be used. Example: Going spectator in order to find somebody, being informed in TS of an event and using that in character, or using OOC local chat IC. Players suspected of metagaming shall be contacted by a admin, however due to the intangible nature of metagaming and the unlikelihood of proving it, players suspected of metagaming may have scenes they are suspected of metagaming voided, repeat voids will result in a week ban, followed by a ban until appeal.
- Do not powergame.Powergaming or “Mary Sueing” is defined as making a character or playing a character in order to achieve a unfair advantage over other players with little to no work involved. Example: Knowing all the languages, being 7 feet tall, forcing emotes without a roll to resist and so on. Players suspected of powergaming will be contacted by a admin and asked to stop, refusal shall result in a temp and a void, further powergaming shall result in the character being removed from the person till appeal.
- All character actions should be done IC. Spoiler: This includes but is not limited to crafting, conversations, information being passed between characters, fights and so on. Failure to do so will result in a void of the RP.
- You must be respectful OOC. Respectful means understanding differences and other opinions and not being deliberately offensive in order to provoke further arguments. Discussion should be civil and free of ad hominems between players. Example: “Fucking Faggot, why don’t you kill yourself”, “Hey Cuntmin, stop abusing your powers asshole,” “Fucking Cuck, your roleplay is literally terrible.” Players suspected of breaking this rule shall be warned by a admin, failure to stop will result in a kick followed by a temp ban. Further lack of respect shall be met with a ban until appeal. No exceptions.
- Do not bait with OOC.Meaning attempting to provide a rise out of players, unlike the above rule this talk may take a civil tone but the end result is either to get the other player banned, or into a situation where one player has an advantage over the other. Example: “Hey man, fight me unless you’re a coward! Hey, Billy I heard your friend got banned by yours truely want to comment on that?” Players suspected of breaking this rule shall be warned by a admin, failure to stop will result in a kick followed by a temp ban. Further lack of respect shall be met with a ban until appeal.
- The Staff’s Teams rulings are final, until appeal.Any attempt to haggle, insult or to provoke a rise out of a admin in the course of their duties shall result in a ban until appeal, under the discretion of the admin. Example: “Are you autistic? Read rule X, and you’ll understand that I’m right.”
Out Of Character (OOC) Rules;
- Do not spread IC information through OOC.Related to metagaming but the purposeful leaking of IC information supposed to be secret or unknown to a person is a bannable offense or possible removal from staff. Example: leaking tickets (such as CKs), the location of prisoners, or the location of somebody who is hiding. Players suspected of breaking this rule will be temp banned, followed by a ban until appeal Admins guilty of leaking tickets may have their administration rights revoked till the HA, or SO comes to a decision regarding their decisions.
- No lying about IC through OOC to admins.If somebody asks something in OOC about something IC you must give a honest answer, long as the question is not an attempt to metagame. Example: Is this document authentic? Is this duty gear?.” Failure to do so will result in a warning, further attempts to lie will result in a temp ban, doing so again will result in a ban until appeal.
- Your CKed characters may Wealth Transfer to a new character with their remaining money (after wipe).After typing wipe_all_gear a player may contact an admin and give the remaining gold to an admin who will keep it till the player has a new character they wish to play. Nobles and Faction Leaders cannot wealth transfer, nor can they sell their gear, give the money to somebody else. Otherwise wealth transfers I. E. giving wealth or gear from one character to another shall be illegal with a permanent ban on first offense with appeal, and permanent ban without appeal on the second offense.
- Glitching is not allowed.Glitching is defined as exploiting the weaknesses of the Warband engine. Example: Horse Glitching, cliff glitching, wall glitching. Players suspected of glitching will either have their horse permissions revoked and/or a week ban. Further offenses shall have a ban until appeal.
- Duplicating is not allowed.Duplicating or “Duping” is the creation of invalid items through glitching in order to obtain extra weapons or gold. Example: OOC fighting till a scimitar is duplicated, spawning multiple horses. Players guilty of duplicating will have their characters wiped and a month long ban, further offenses shall result in a ban until appeal and the character being wiped.
- Child characters must be applied for and accepted before played.Child characters require a ticket to play, failure to do so will result and a kick until a ticket is obtained and approved.
- You must have an accepted biography to get an equipment request.Failure to do so will result in the equipment request being denied or achieved till a biography is approved
- You must have an biography for nobility and ‘important people’.This is intended to make sure that nobility and other important people can give an example to people and too give them the same level of responsibility of other players. Failure to produce a biography will result in the character being removed from the scene.
- You must have an accepted biography to make a profession app.Failure to do so will result in denial or archival of the application until an accepted biography of the player’s is produced.
- You do not require a biography for maims or joining a faction.Self explanatory however you do require a biography to obtain any officer rank in a faction.
- Admins have the right to interpret the rules and ban lengths.This is to accommodate circumstances that may arise or loopholes in the rules that were not thought of at the time. The staff team still should follow the guidelines closely in order to achieve a consistent quality and ban length.
- Admins guilty of handing out CK ticket information can have their rank removed by the decision of the HA and or SO.See rule 1 of OOC rules for further details.
In Character (IC) Rules;
- All of your (character’s) actions must have justification of some kind.This means that a player should never “break character” in order to achieve a OOC goal. Example: Helping your friend in a fight, looking for somebody to tell your friend their location and etc. Players will be warned for this behavior and frequent violations will result in a temp ban, a week long ban and then a ban until appeal.
- Your character must stay close to its biography if it has one.You must roleplay your character’s personality, strengths and weaknesses according to your accepted biography, failure to do so will result in a admin contacting you and possible voids taking place. This may be rare or hard to enforce, but will ultimately be looked at the most for nobles.
- All fighting must be IC.See rule 3 in rules of conduct
- No trolling IC.This includes but is not limited to spamming inv commands, doing things your character wouldn’t do, or just generally being a troll in a IC format. Example: *John jumps onto the noble’s table and furiously masturabates*. Players suspected of breaking this rule shall be kicked, then temp banned, then banned until appeal.
- You cannot make ‘Mary Sue’ characters.A “Mary Sue” is a perfect character or a character played without flaws, see Rule 5 in rules of conduct for more information
- You cannot use information given OOC for IC purposes.See Rule 4 in rules of conduct
- Your character’s name must be logical and not referencing something directly.A character’s name must be properly medieval, have no obvious reference to any fantasy or historical figure and must be non-trollish. Example: Jamie Lannister, William Wallace, Ching Chong. Players with poor names will be asked to change them, then kicked, then temp banned.
- ‘Legacy’ Characters can be used at times in events but with admin approval.Ask staff for further clarification, each legacy character is an ad hoc decision.
- Voided emotes / statements can be taken IC.Anything typed in local chat in a valid format can be taken IC by players in the scene. Example: *Jimmy throws up at words edgy words John said to Caroline* //he he void. Taken IC”. Scene will be enforced if a admin is called.
- CKs must have some justification.Every CK will require a CK ticket or an admin to enforce it on the spot. Scenes with admins enforcing CKs must have strong evidence for a CK such as banditry or other such obvious reasons to kill somebody.
- Bandits can only steal 20% of someone’s gold.You can see a player’s pouch, take 20% of that, only one robbery per person (no robbing them multiple times each person in the bandit group robbing 20%), and you cannot as well rob somebody within the hour of you last robbing them. Failure to do so will result in a week ban, followed by a ban until appeal.Robbing one is KOing them both IC and OOC (unless they willingly give you money after being threatened) then taking their pouch.Though, looting is only 10% and this is for battlefields and skirmishes between factions.
- You can only steal from a chest with admin approval or if you’re a partial owner of it.People suspected of stealing from chests without permission of the owner will have the items stolen removed from their inventory and be banned for 2 days. Further stealing will result in a permanent ban with appeal. Example: Stealing faction gear while being outfitted, glitching into house’s and taking gear.
- Bandit and mercenary groups above four require an organization app.Self explanatory, failure to do so will result in a day long ban for the first offense, followed by a week, followed by a ban with appeal.For the sake of bandit groups organization apps have been made private, so don’t use that as an excuse to not post one.
- Administrators or the Faction leader must approve an attack on a keep.If a player wishes to start hostile RP in a keep the defending Faction Leader must be aware, if the defending Faction Leader does not approve of this then an administrator must give permission. Once given a short period of time will be allowed for the defender to get people on to role-play the guards that should be there. After this period of time the attacker will be given the go-ahead to begin hostile RP within the keep. Failure to obtain permission may lead to a void or a redo at a later date.
- Wounds must be RPed.See rule 5 in Fighting Rules.
- Child Characters below 13 cannot use swords or big weapons (including most crossbows and bows).C_Mary_Sue cannot go and draw a sword then fight two bandits who attacked her, as she is merely ten years old. Practice bows and crossbows are allowed though for C_ characters under 13, some other weapons may be permitted.
- Child Characters can age every two weeks at minimum.This means that C_Ricky_Bobby cannot age five years (IC) in a span of two days (OOC). This does not pertain to adult characters. Though, child characters do not have to age.
[li]Stealing Equipment from KO’d characters is prohibited.After a fight no weapons, nor armor can be taken from a player by force. They can willingly give up weapons and/or armor, if those weapons and armor aren’t going to their OOC friends or themselves on a different character (if caught doing so you will be banned). Players can still be robbed 10% of their coin however.Though, lawful taking is allowed. This is where a faction official (officer, fl, etc.) can take the weapon of a bandit or criminal under the intention to hinder their progress of doing it again or punishing them further. This also requires admin approval. These weapons may be used. - Stealing weapons or armor from CK’d characters is allowed under specific circumstances and require admin approval.Most of the time approval will come when they are only stealing a weapon, most of the time this is when the weapon has some “sentimental” value to the character and is in good enough condition to be used (salvage rolls will be asked by an admin, at the discretion of the admin). It is also possible to take the armor or weapons under different circumstances, but all counts on an admin’s decision.
- Rape or Forced ERP is only allowed if both parties agree OOC, this pertains to FTB rape. Spoiler:When Ragnar_Ragnarsson sees Mary_Sue, then proceeds to KO her and ask “// accept rape?” Mary_Sue can respond with “// no” and that means rape IC cannot occur.
Fighting Rules;
- Fighting must be justified IC.Do not shout “OOC Combat warning” without a valid reason or RDM rules will be applied.
- Fighting must be IC.See Rule 3 in Rules of Conduct or Rule 1 of In Character Rules
- If you're wounded it must be treated by someone able to or it can result in CK.This will be enforced, but more likely it will result in a maim
- All fights must receive some type of combat warning (ten seconds).With the exception of ambushes. Prior to combat beginning a player must in local OOC chat give a combat warning allowing players to finish anything they are typing and to be alert to the possibly of combat starting. However a combat warning is not IC knowledge, do not use it as a attempt to position yourself, draw weapons and shields if without proper RP reasons. Failure to give a combat warning will result in punishment for RDM.
- If you’re KO’d in a fight you must RP wounds.Once KOed a roleplay wounds for periods of time determined by the severity of the damage taken, if treated by a surgeon they may RP wounds for 6 hours. Role-playing wounds is defined as having to do /walk to move around, the inability to fight, a reduction of minus 50 to physical roles. A player may, after they respawn if they roll above a 50 be permitted to immediately do /walk and leave the scene of a fight. However this is not counted as light wounds, you are just as wounded as a player who rolls a “0”. Failure to abide by wound RP shall lead to your wound time being extended, failure to do so a second time will lead to a week ban, and the third time will result in a character CK.Wounds range from light to mortal*, light is merely from being stabbed during a fight but not KO’d. While other wounds result from KOs, they can result in CKs and maims. Look at *insert link* for more information.
- OOC after a fight should be kept to a limited.Related to the spam rule, if you have a issue with the course of a fight call a administrator. Spamming chat or insulting the other party shall result in the enforcement of the spam and respect rules respectively in the Rules of Conduct section.
Professions;
- Your profession application must be approved before your character can RP it.You cannot smith, heal wounds, turn poles or craft before you have a accepted profession application and biography. Failure to do will result in the void of said RP and a day long ban.
- You must get experience in your character’s current profession to go to the next rank of it.All professions shall start at tier 1 and advance with experience gained on the server. See the administrator in charge of professions to determine how much experience this is, it may vary profession to profession.
- You can only be two professions at the same time if they’re related, but it must be justified.This requires strong evidence and advanced age. However due to the related nature of say carpentry and bowery related professions shall be easier to get approved by the staff team.
Tickets;
- You must get admin approval for ambushes.Ambushes or attacks without a combat warning are a valid strategy but however must be approved to prevent blatant RDMing. Failure to have a ticket for your ambush will lead to punishment under the RDM section of the rules.Ambushes must have valid reasons.
- You must make a ticket for CKs (unless they accept).Attempted CKs not accepted by the player or by the staff team will be voided. While some CKs may be enforced on the server strong evidence is required such as banditry, rape, or other heinous crimes. Faction leaders shall require the HA to approve of their CK.
- To get keys for a GUID door you must make a ticket or have a admin on the server deal with it. Keys given out from a set of master key are exempt from this.Self explanatory
- For a refund you must make a ticket but you don’t require a biography. Date and time are required for verification.Self explanatory.
- Bioless characters requires a ticket to CK.Self explanatory.
- To make map changes you must make a building ticket.The mappers will only change the map with a accepted ticket, this is not just building items but also tearing them down or burning them down.
- For nobility, leaders, and ‘important roles’ you must make an application via ticket system.While it is perfectly acceptable to pretend to be a noble, without a application or a nobility ticket you cannot play a genuine noble. As the number of these roles are few and their purpose to create roleplay the staff must monitor the number of nobles and other positions within the server. Failure to have an accepted application will lead to your character being wiped with the option for whatever gear transferred to another character.
- Organizations must be applied for in the ticket system.This is to assure that organizations are monitored by the staff team to ensure a quality of roleplay and to assist and facilitate the creation of role-play of said groups. Generally 4 or more bio’d members are needed for an organization to be considered.
- If you find a bug make a ticket to report it. Self explanatory
